Self Catering Holiday Cottages

There are five holiday cottages at Springwell at Onich near Fort William, set within a seventeen acre private hillside location with panoramic views overlooking Loch Linnhe and into the Glencoe/Argyllshire mountains.

The site is in an ideal central position for touring the Highlands and Islands, covering a wide range of leisurely pursuits and activities. The Islands of Skye, Mull, lona and many more are reasonably accessible as are numerous mainland locations. Onich is an ideal base for discovering the magic this part of Scotland has to offer.  For the energetic, the skiing and climbing areas of Glencoe and the Nevis Range, are within 30 minutes car journey and the rambler, cyclist and mountain biker is spoilt for choice also, with many official designated routes.

Alternatively, spend some time just relaxing by your holiday cottage taking in the view or stroll down to the secluded rugged beach at the foot of our site for a barbecue.

Below you’ll find a selection of comments that our customers have left in our Visitors Books:

Not a brilliant week weather wise but walked every day anyway. Great cottage, views to die for and great facilities. Eaten and drunk too much of course. High Spot – Clachaig Inn and Ben Nevis Distillery – and the scenery of course.”
Strafford Family from Milton Keynes  (27 Oct – 1 Nov 09)
“Starting with a week of sunshine we enjoyed our holiday very much discovering a part of the world which we not knew before. We loved to return to a cosy and comfortable cottage after a day exploring the Highlands & Islands and enjoyed this fantastic view. The rainy days of the second week were just good for some inside activities and a bit of relaxing and reading about the area. We would love to come back again.”
Ingrid & Chris Manheim – Frankfurt, Germany (13 Sep – 26 Sep 09)

“Happy time had by myself and my husband. Days at Munros mixed with days of rest worked brilliantly for us. Knees, sides, back, sun/wind burn aches will accompany us on our way home; the reminder of the fun we have had. Thanks for everything. Cottage and location stunning.”
Patersons, Edinburgh (1 Aug – 8 Aug 09)
“The weather has been very kind to us so everything has taken on a different perspective. We have had a great week, seen an eagle and a stag. The birds outside the window have been a delight. We really do not want to go home but the views will be with us forever. Pat is very helpful and a nice guy. Hopefully we will be back.”
Hicksons, Milton Keynes (6 Jun – 13 Jun 09)
“Comfy cottage well equipped and beautiful views. Weather has not been brilliant but we have managed to find something to do. Recommend Glen Nevis walk and Sana Bay, Ardnamurchan although this involves a long drive. It has been fun watching the birds.”
Janet Wilson (8 Aug – 15 Aug 09)
“I think we must be the luckiest people ever. You would expect 3 days in March to be miserable but the weather has been spectacular, glorious sunshine. The view is as everyone says spectacular and having your own Spring Watch out the window. We even saw a deer out the back. We have been to Fort William, Neptunes Staircase, Glenfinnan, Mallaig, paddled in the sea at Morar. In the gondolas at the Nevis range – stunning! Visited Glencoe down to Oban. We ate at the Onich Hotel which was lovely. To sum up the cottage is fantastic and the scenery is awesome and I am sure we will be back.”
Stephanie Collins (19 Mar – 22 Mar 09)
“We loved the view from the big window. Fabulous sandy beaches near Arisaig, Corran Ferry to Ardnamurchan peninsula’ went up the Nevis gondola and walked through the gorge at Glen Nevis and climbed a mountain at Glencoe. We loved this area and also saw seals on a little cruise.
